Welcome, I'm so glad you're here!

Whatever you've been through, whatever has been done to you,  you do not have to figure it out on your own this time. Together we will seek to understand how your past shows up in the present causing you pain and suffering and robbing you of being fully present to your life.  We will work to heal in such a way that your mind and body are aligned in knowing that the past is just that, the past.

What is Trauma?

Trauma is an emotional response to a horrible, stressful or dangerous one-time event or series of events that our brain is not prepared to handle and overwhelms our capacity to emotionally digest it and cope with at the time. There are many types of trauma: acute (single event); complex (prolonged and repeated events); secondary (witnessing someone else's trauma); and generational. After trauma, the Sympathetic Nervous System remains activated, keeping the body and mind on high alert.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy helps to address the behaviors and symptoms you carry  in the present and aims to empower you with the skills and understanding for long term healing.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) stimulates the brain to better understand and process trauma, which helps reduce the level of disturbance of memories, thoughts and stored body sensations.

IFS

Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps to get to know our "parts" all of which are well intentioned but at times get stuck in extreme roles.  IFS helps to reconcile our internal struggles, quiet our critical inner voices, and to hear the wise parts of ourselves that sometimes feel far away.
